Assistant Project manager
Olivia, originally a Texas native, moved to Oklahoma when she was young and graduated from Oklahoma State University in May of 2016 with a degree in Agribusiness. During her university career she worked as the homecoming director for her sorority where she was responsible for heading up the design and fabrication of their house decoration. From this role, she realized just how much she loves taking creative projects from conception to realization. After graduating, she came to Austin to visit family and surprised herself by landing a job as assistant project manager at Metropolitan Gallery. She is now contributing to the team with her great work ethic, can-do attitude and ability to quickly learn anything she puts her mind to.

IF YOU WEREN’T IN THE ART INDUSTRY, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING NOW?
I’d most likely be going to grad school. When I graduated I promised myself that if I hadn’t found a job that I absolutely loved by the end of 2016, I would go to graduate school. I had already picked out a program in Colorado and taken the GRE when I found my current position here at MG. I couldn’t resist such a great opportunity.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO AUSTIN?
Metropolitan Gallery, actually. I came to town to visit family and ended up interviewing at MG while I was here. When I had the opportunity to work in the art industry, which I had always dreamed of doing, I jumped. Two weeks later I packed up my things in Tulsa and drove south. I’ve always known I wanted to end up in Austin; it just happened a little faster than anticipated.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Vibrant colors, the desert, vintage anything and passionate people.
FIVE THINGS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT:
Projects. I love making, fixing and repurposing things. Recently, I've been renovating a vintage camper and I always have a few painting projects going. Without a few good projects, I would be bored out of my mind. Food- duh! I love to cook and I really love to eat. The number of food trucks and hole in the wall restaurants in Austin is one of the things that excited me most about living here. The great outdoors. A long hike or a nap in my hammock are two of my favorite ways to relax. My family; they are ALWAYS supportive of me and my endeavors. My dog Jack. He's a four pound, sock-stealing monster.
